Message From The Visionary

“When a country wants television more than they want clean water, they've lost their grip.” These are the words of Lewis Black. People require clean water to live. Polluted water isn’t just “dirty”— it can actually be deadly. It Can Be the Difference Between Sick and Healthy.

Firstly, We live in an age when everybody are busy checking the notifications on their smart-phones, but we aren’t too busy to notice that 66 million in Nigeria are without improved drinking water; a major percentage of them are women and children. Read More

Importance Of Water

1. It Can Be the Difference Between Sick and Healthy

Firstly, people require clean water to live. Polluted water isn’t just “dirty”—it can actually be deadly. Despite being considered a basic human right by the United Nations, around 1.8 million people around the world die from contaminated diarrhea diseases and illnesses such as cholera, while tens of millions become extremely sick from water-related ailments, many of which are avoidable.

2. It Keeps Us Hydrated and Full

Clean water is also essential for food production. Humans require massive amounts of water to produce even 1 kg of food staples like bread (1,608 L), cheese (3,178 L) and rice (2,497 L).

3. It’s Essential—For Everything

Not only do we as humans rely on clean water to live full, happy lives, but so does the rest of our ecosystem. If we hope to have a healthy future for our friends, families and environment, finding ways to preserve the safe, clean water we have while efficiently recycling the grey and wastewater we create is vital.

The Mission

The Mission

We are implementing millennial sustainable developmental goals
& positively touching the lives of every Nigerian Family.

THE WATER HUB

The Water Hub is a scheme by which Children and Women have access to Drinking water in its purest form. Megasea Foundation are using this opportunity to donate 50,000 litres of treated water to all public primary schools in and around Gbagada community; also we will be distributing drinking cups to each of these primary school kids so they wouldn’t have to use their hand to drink tap water anymore. Our outreach extends to low income-rural settlements with the aim to reduce the burden brought upon women and their children who have to walk long distance just to make sure water to available for the entire family.

BOOK HUB

“There is no friend as loyal as a book.” ― Ernest Hemingway and for that sole reason Megasea Foundation believes opening a book is the key that unlocks the minds which in turn opens doors of opportunities. We pledge 1m exercise books to primary school children in Ondo town. Our Book hub program encourages all Nigerians to donate books that they believe will be of great benefit to the enlightenment of the mind of the Nigerian Child who doesn’t have access to read varieties of books, Therefore you don’t have to worry about what to do with the books that your kids have outgrown.

THE JOSEPH ROBE PROJECT

The Joseph Robe Project is an initiative set up with the sole aim of providing quality clothing for Homeless Women and Children. These clothing was made available out of the generosity of well-meaning Nigerians with the heart of Gold. We have established a network where donations by individuals and corporate bodies goes through Megasea Foundation which ends up putting warmth on the bodies of the beneficiaries. We have drop-off points scattered across Lagos State and our dedicated staffs are always ready to make sure all clothing get to the benefitting women and children.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Economic development and Women Empowerment are closely related. We cannot achieve Millennial Development Goals if we do not take a stand towards ensuring that all women are participate in the process of poverty reduction, democratic governance, crisis prevention and recovery, and environment and sustainable development. Megasea Foundation will be driving social change in rural community by empowering woman through education and vocational training. We encourage capacity building to enhance income, to improve health through awareness building and to develop skills through specific training.

Ensure environmental sustainability

  • Integrate the principles of sustainable development into country policies and programs; reverse loss of environmental resources.
  • Reduce by half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation.
  • Achieve significant improvement in lives of at least 100 million slum dwellers, by 2020.

Develop a global partnership for development

  • Develop further an open, rule-based, predictable, non-discriminatory trading and financial system.
  • Address the special needs of the least developed countries, landlocked countries and small island developing States.
